Node.js is an open-source runtime environment for writing JavaScript networking and server-side applications. Built on the Google Chrome JavaScript engine, JavaScript applications can be run within the Node.js environment on OS X, Windows and Linux. We like Node.js for its speed in code execution, asynchronous loading, and scalability.
